The real deal . . .

Fakes and ‘knock-offs’ are a common occurrence today especially when it comes to religion. The Psalmist noticed the same problem in his day; “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat.” (Psalm 115:4-7) The clergy and followers of religious ‘fakery’ are the same as their idols; “Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.” (v. 8)e1b7578ff47b7da30cb24e17d0cf7430

You have to look hard to find the real deal. You have to find a copy of the Holy Bible and read it for yourself.  God promises that it’s worth the effort; “. . . if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14) Jesus tells us; “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”(Matthew 7:7,8) We just have to make the effort. Sadly, modern idols don’t require effort, just indifference and a ‘go with the flow attitude.’

You just have to take a stand for the Lord!  It’s that easy and that hard; “The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down into silence. But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 115:17,18)

Amen!
